03/07/2013 — WriteNow! programmer expands the device list by adding Texas Instruments TMS570LS ARM Cortex-R4 devices.
The Hercules TMS570 Safety MCU family enables customers to easily develop safety-critical products for transportation and automotive applications. TMS570 devices are part of SafeTI™ design packages and are developed to meet the requirements of ISO 26262 ASIL-D and IEC 61508 SIL-3 safety standards and qualified to the AEC-Q100 automotive specification. The TMS570 ARM Cortex-R4F based family offers several options of performance, memory (from 256KB to 3MB), peripherals for motor control and a variety of communication interfaces.
WriteNow! uses the standard JTAG protocol as programming interface. The specific programming algorithm for this family is based on the F021 Flash API Texas Instruments library.
Algocraft provides support of TI TMS570LS to all its WriteNow! Series, single and parallel in-system programmers. Four models are available: WN-PRG01A (programs 1 device at a time), WN-PRG02A (programs 2 devices in parallel), WN-PRG04A (programs 4 devices in parallel), and WN-PRG08A (programs 8 devices in parallel).
Thanks to the optimized WriteNow! architecture, the typical programming time for TMS570LS1227 device (1.25MB Flash memory) is about 12 seconds (erase + blank check + program + verify).
