Full support of Fremont Micro Devices (FMD) by Algocraft
Fremont Micro Devices (FMD) is a privately held fabless semiconductor company that is fast becoming a leader in non-volatile memory products and high efficiency power management solutions. It is founded in Fremont, California in 2003 and is funded by various international venture capitals.
The company is headquartered in Shenzhen and has branches in Hong Kong and Xi’ an s. It’s one of the few IC design enterprises in China with the design capability and mass production experience of microcontroller chips, power management chips and memory chips.
The company independently researched and developed EEPROM technology, and mass-produced and sold EEPROM chips in 2005. Subsequently, relying on profound technology accumulation and innovation ability, it launched PMIC chip, NOR Flash chip and MCU chip in mass production.
Algocraft support: Algocraft has always been highly responsive to the needs and requests of our partners and customers. A couple of years ago, in response to a new application, we started supporting the 8-bit RISC MCU family from FMD – specifically the FT61Fx, FT62Fx, FT64Fx, and FT67Fx series.
Subsequently, we expanded our support to include serial memories within the three families: 3-wire, I2C bus, and SPI bus. Recently, we further extended support on our universal programming platform, WriteNow!, to cover the 32-bit MCU series based on ARM Cortex M0/M3.
Support for EEPROM serial memories: Algocraft supports the whole series EEPROM serial memories in I2C, uwire and SPI protocols. These serial memories are widely used in home appliance, netcom, medical, industrial control and other general fields, as well as RAM, server, camera and other special fields.
Support for 8-bit FT6xx MCUs: Algocraft supports the 8-bit RISC MCU via ISP protocol. Only four pins are needed for programming: VDD, GND, ISPCLK (ISP debugger clock) and ISPDAT (ISP debugger data).
The programming algorithm designed by Algocraft supports the programming of the following area: FLASH, OPTION and EEPROM memories. The programming time for FT62F13 (3 KWord of FLASH) is less of 1 second for erase, blank check, program and verify commands.
Support for 32-bit FT32xx Cortex MCUs: Algocraft has recently extended support to the 32-bit series — suitable for consumer electronics, home appliances, industrial control, and automotive electronics.
The programming algorithm designed by Algocraft supports the programming of both FLASH and OPTION memories. The programming time for the FT32F072RB (128KB FLASH) is less than 4 seconds for the erase, blank check, program, and verify commands.
“With the support of Freemont Micro Device, we continue to position our WriteNow! programming platform as a universal and professional solution for the production and testing industries” says Pietro Poletto, R&D Manager at Algocraft. “The WriteNow! programming solution can program up to 8 devices in parallel—expandable to 32 devices with the demultiplexer module.”
Freemont Micro Device (FMD) China expressed their appreciation for the ongoing collaboration with Algocraft, highlighting the importance of their partnership in delivering high-quality programming solutions: “We are pleased to have Algocraft as a partner for In-Circuit Programming solutions. Algocraft’s presence in China through its distribution network is crucial. We are particularly satisfied with the work carried out by Mr. Zhilong Zhang from Yantai, with whom we collaborate in supporting major customers.”
